Ford To Use 'Charge Angels' To Fix And Improve Charging Stations

 

 

The Ford Motor Company’s F-150 Lightning is getting ready for release next year, and Ford plans to hire a team of “Charge Angels” to guarantee that the people who own its EVs can find dependable places to charge when needed. In a recent interview with Automotive News, Ford EV lead Darren Palmer stated that technicians in uniquely-equipped Mustang Mach-Es will venture across the US to test out charging stations where corresponding vehicle data and “angry social media posts” indicate how the stations may not be working as intended.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, some Ford dealerships began offering pickup and delivery services to their customers. It was a way to work with social distancing requirements and allow customers to get their cars serviced while remaining safe. The service was very well received, as it enabled customers to receive necessary maintenance on their vehicles without needing to rearrange their schedules.
 

Ford is now expanding this service to be available to FordPass™ Rewards members. Customers can call their dealer to schedule an appointment and request a pickup, at home or even at work.

Kevin Hart’s 1977 Ford Bronco Restomod Sells at Auction for Nearly $140,000

 

This year’s Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction featured a number of notable Blue Oval models, including a 1966 Ford Mustang once owned by Henry Ford II and a 2019 Ford GT with only 21 miles on the odometer.

 

However, one particularly noteworthy model was also sold; a custom 1977 Ford Bronco restomod previously owned by comedian and actor Kevin Hart. The Bronco, like every lot in Las Vegas, was offered with no reserve price. At the end of the day, it sold for an impressive $139,700.

Ford Partners With DTE Energy on New Rooftop Solar Installation and Battery Storage Technology

 

Earlier this month, the Ford Motor Company announced that local Michigan energy company DTE Energy had been commissioned to create a new rooftop solar array at the Ford Research & Engineering Center in Dearborn, Michigan. 

 

The 2,159-panel array is located on the rooftop level of the Deck 400 parking structure and includes an integrated battery storage system that will be used to power newly-installed electric vehicle (EV) chargers.
