What is Ford BlueCruise?
Ford BlueCruise is a genuine automated driving system that is available on pre-mapped roads in the U.S. and Canada. While it seems advanced and complex, the system is actually made up of very familiar building blocks that often take the form of driver assistance features, like lane keeping assistance, cruise control, and speed sign recognition. The technology keeps you at a consistent pace and safe distance from the vehicle in front of you, maintaining your position inside your own lane and allowing you to keep your eyes on the road and your hands off the wheel as you cruise to your destination.
How Do I Use Ford BlueCruise?
Over 130,000 miles of North American roads have been mapped and designated as Hands-Free Blue Zones, areas of road where Ford BlueCruise is available for use. The technology is easy to activate. Just go to your vehicle’s controls and find the Driver Assistance menu. There, you’ll find the option to activate BlueCruise. Just enable the feature and you’re off to the races! Your instrument panel will light up blue to indicate that your car is running this system. A driver attention monitoring system will ensure that you’re keeping your eyes on the road, but you’re free to sit back and relax once the system is active!
What Vehicles is Ford BlueCruise Available on?
Ford BlueCruise is a hot new feature, and it’s currently available on several different Ford vehicles from the 2021 model year to the present. Select trims of the Mustang Mach-E, the F-150, the F-150 Lightning, and the Expedition currently have this feature available, so make sure to ask your Ford salesperson about it if you’re interested!
