Just two months after orders began, Ford has officially delivered the all-electric F-150 Lightning pickup to residents in all 50 states of the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. Ranking with the most F-150 Lightning deliveries through the month of July, Texas — the truck mecca of the U.S. — and California — the electric vehicle center of the country — both lead in raw numbers, but customers worldwide are enjoying the benefits of innovative electric power in their vehicles.

“This truck is a workhorse. We have driven more than 3,000 miles already and towed and carried hundreds of pounds of concrete in the frunk,” said Emre Gol of Texas, who uses his F-150 Lightning to bolster his kitchen and bath remodeling business. He recently helped out his neighbor’s wife, who had just six miles of charge left in her electric car’s battery and wasn’t at home. Gol hooked up his F-150 Lightning to the car’s charging adapter and offered enough power to safely get her home.

While it can be a little hard to believe that a pickup truck can offer such potent and transportable power for any driver’s convenience, that’s actually just one of the many stories new F-150 Lighting owners have shared about the incredible and supportive things with this innovative pickup.

For instance, Jeff and Tammy Head, the owners of both a standard F-150 and an F-150 Lightning, have typically used their new electric truck to tow a boat from Anchorage to Kenai River — roughly a three-hour drive to fish for salmon.

“From the time we watched it at the reveal, we knew that we wanted it,” Tammy Head said. “We had no doubt that this truck will have trademark Ford quality which gave us the confidence to transition to an electric vehicle.”

Still other owners are using their Lightning trucks for more common uses.

“The Lightning is the best thing I have ever purchased,” said Chris Ashley, a resident of Maryland and a first-time electric vehicle buyer. “With this truck, I can enhance my love of tailgating while at the same time play a small role in creating a better planet for my children.”

Before his wife, Emily, convinced him to buy the F-150 Lightning, Ashley has thought about purchasing an electric vehicle for a few years.

With so many impressive stories, we can see that the appeal of not only electric pickup trucks, but Ford’s take on them, is what people are so impressed and proud about.
