As more individual drivers and more commercial fleets start to go electric, the demand for convenient and accessible charging solutions is only growing. Luckily, Ford Pro has plenty of experience providing companies with solutions for fleet management, and recently announced the release of a new charging hardware that will be added to its existing lineup of end-to-end solutions for electric commercial vehicles.

“We’re committed to helping businesses make the transition to electric easy with a single-minded focus on curated commercial charging solutions,” said Ted Cannis, Ford Pro CEO. “With our tailored EV consulting and portfolio of charging hardware and software solutions, we can design, implement and operate solutions for Ford and other brands that will last for many years to come. And we are not afraid to tell customers when electrification is not yet a good fit and support them with other solutions.”

The newly released charging hardware is a Series 2 AC Charging Station 80 amp with an expanded DC Fast Charger, designed especially for commercial use. The charger includes a range of new and improved features, such as enhanced security with RFID that limits unwanted charger access, a new LCD screen that displays step-by-step charging instructions, and temperature sensors for safety and efficiency. The charger is also designed to easily pair with Ford Pro’s charging management software, creating a fully integrated solution that simplifies charging, not only for Ford EVs, but for non-Ford EVs as well.

Ford Pro’s BEV Fit team has been offering complimentary consulting to commercial customers throughout this process, helping them to identify available incentives and making recommendations on charging site design and construction, as well as collaborating with local utilities on the energy needs of businesses switching to EVs.

Ford Pro is releasing other charging options alongside this new hardware, such as an extended DC Fast Charger in 180kW and 240kW to provide more versatility and power as well as shorter charge times. Each of these products works with Ford Pro’s smart charging software, helping businesses keep their fleets charged and ready whenever they’re needed and simplifying and optimizing EV charging for a full fleet. These solutions even make it easier to manage utility reimbursement reporting for home-based drivers.

With tools like these, it’s becoming easier than ever for commercial businesses to switch to electric vehicles. If you’re interested in learning more about Ford’s electric solutions, make sure you continue reading our blog here at Dunphy Ford!
