There are many benefits that come along with driving electric vehicles, especially for the commercial customers of Ford Pro. Along with the reduced carbon emissions, the money saved on fuel and maintenance, and the unique performance and utility, there are also some tax benefits involved in going electric. Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) electric vehicle tax credits are available to businesses that use electric vehicles, and Ford Pro has just announced the launch of a new program designed to help customers understand and get the most of these benefits with the help of professional services firm Ernst & Young LLP.
These valuable tax credits and incentives were introduced in the first place to make electric vehicle adoption more affordable and more practical. Under the IRA, customers can potentially qualify for electric vehicle tax credits of up to $7,500 per EV purchased, something that would make a significant difference in the expense of a business going electric. The 2023 E-Transit, the 2023 F-150 Lightning, the 2023 Mustang Mach-E, and 2023 Escape plug-in hybrid are all eligible for these tax credits, and so is the purchase and installation of Ford Pro charging equipment.
Ford Pro and Ernst & Young will be working together to educate commercial electric vehicle customers on these opportunities to save money while going electric. The service is complimentary, and will be open to all Ford commercial customers who have been assigned a Ford Fleet Identification Number (FIN), including customers with fleets of 15 vehicles or more, or customers who are currently purchasing five or more vehicles. The one-time, 30 minute session will help to provide customers with valuable information about these tax incentives to help them get the absolute most out of their electric vehicles.
“Businesses tell us they want to better understand incentives to adopt EVs, including charging, especially as it pertains to the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act,” said Ted Cannis, Ford Pro CEO. “This is another way we’re expanding Ford Pro’s one-stop services to help commercial customers simplify and potentially lower the total cost of owning and operating their fleets.”
