Spring has finally sprung, and things are finally starting to wake up after the long winter months. While you’re spring cleaning your house and enjoying the warm weather again, it’s a good time to give your car a seasonal once-over as well! Winter can be tough on your vehicle, and you want your ride to be in top condition for spring and summer so that you can focus on enjoying yourself instead of worrying about your car. Here’s a few things to make sure you do for your vehicle this spring!

Check the Wiper Blades

After the temperature fluctuations of the changing seasons and probably seeing some heavy use during winter storms, there’s a good chance that your wiper blades could be replaced. Freezing to the windshield in the cold can damage them, and ice and snow can act as abrasives as well. Take a look at the rubber edge of your wiper blade. It should be flexible, and not have any cracks or tears in it. If it’s not looking right, or if it leaves streaks on your windshield after a pass, it’s time to get it changed!

Check the Air Filter

If you deal with springtime allergies, this is one you won’t want to pass up. There isn’t a lot of dust, debris, and bugs in the air during winter that you have to worry about, however spring cleaning is as good a reason as any to take a look at your air filter and ensure it’s in good shape. You should be able to see light through the pleats of the engine and cabin air filters, and if they’re covered in dust and debris or if they smell bad, it’s definitely time to get them replaced!

Clean Things Up

Out with the old, in with the new. After weeks of driving on salted winter roads and dealing with your wet and dirty shoes on the floor mats, your car could probably use a good wash, a deep vacuum, and a thorough wipedown. Not only will it help to keep your ride looking spectacular, but it will help your vehicle to stay in good condition for a longer amount of time.
