The all-new 2024 Ford Mustang has been generating lots of buzz since its announcement, and the car is finally making its debut this coming weekend at Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville, VA. All three of NASCAR’s top touring series will be competing in Martinsville this weekend, making it a major event for the new Mustang to be hitting the stage at.

The new seventh-generation Mustang GT is scheduled to pace in seven different NASCAR races this year, with this one being the first. The others will be in Talladega from April 21-23, in Dover from April 29-30, in Darlington from May 12-14, in Nashville from June 23-25, in Chicago June 30-July 2, and the annual Labor Day Weekend at Darlington Sept. 1-3.

“We’ve had great success racing Mustang globally, including winning last year’s NASCAR championship,” said Mark Rushbrook, global director, Ford Performance Motorsports. “Racing leads to better-informed development of products, and seeing the all-new Mustang GT setting the pace at NASCAR make this connection even stronger with our customers and fans.”

A new fourth-generation Coyote V8 engine is the key to making this new Mustang GT one of the most thrilling Mustangs yet. Delivering 486 horsepower and 418 ft.-lb. of torque with an available active-valve performance exhaust system, this vehicle delivers a custom-V8 sound and incredible boosted power. The standard Mustang GT is no slouch either, providing 480 horsepower and 415 ft.-lb. of torque, the most standard torque and the most standard power in a naturally aspirated V8-powered Mustang ever. The fourth-generation Coyote V8 features a segment-first, dual intake and dual throttle body induction system. Paired with structural improvements and an upgraded oil pan, induction loss is minimized by the higher air flow rates.

The look of the 2024 Mustang has just as much presence as the powerful engine, with design details that emphasize the inspiration taken from the original Mustang’s 1960s design. With a fighter jet-inspired digital cockpit, an optimized roofline for track driving, and improved aerodynamic balance, one look will tell you that this is a vehicle that’s ready for anything.
