Ford recently revealed new details on the top-rated Ford Escape compact SUV, and there’s a lot to make any driver happy. The 2023 Escape has been updated for the new model year with a new available infotainment setup, innovative driver assistance systems, a few exterior stylish and performance enhancements, and sophisticated new trim levels.

In addition to the popular new ST-Line models, the 2023 Escape lineup also includes updated Base, Escape Active, Platinum, and Plug-in Hybrid models. Escape Base and Active models offer a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine with front-wheel or available all-wheel drive. The Platinum edition offers a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine with all-wheel drive and a hybrid powertrain option with front-wheel or all-wheel drive.

Every 2023 Ford Escape SUV, whether powered by one of two available EcoBoost engines or hybrid powertrains, is designed to provide an EPA-estimated range of at least 400 miles per tank. The full hybrid version with front-wheel-drive strives for a shocking EPA-estimated range of over 550 miles.

New optional amenities were made too, with a 13.2-inch center-stack screen for convenient viewing, and available technologies like Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, Predictive Speed Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Reverse Brake Assist, Evasive Steering Assist and Connected Built-In Navigation.

“Ford is among the leading hybrid automakers in the U.S. because we understand that not all of our customers are ready to go all-electric,” says Adrienne Zaski, brand manager at Ford. “With two hybrid powertrain choices, customers can spend less time at the gas station and keep more money in their pockets.”

For the athletic ST-Line specifically, the biggest changes for 2023 include black exterior trim and optional new tech, like a bigger infotainment screen, the ability to download over-the-air updates, and an automatic emergency braking (AEB) system built to detect pedestrians when turning sharp corners.

The new ST-Line also features a sleek black mesh grille, a signature rear skid plate, and a big single-wing rear spoiler. On the premium ST-Line Elite, an LED light bar was designed between the headlights where the grille meets the hood.
