The all-new 2022 Ford Bronco and the all-new 2022 Ford Maverick both made a big splash with their releases, and now they’re beginning to earn some well-deserved recognition. The Bronco has received the North American Utility of the Year award for 2022, and the Maverick has received the North American Truck of the Year award for 2022.
Ford was recognized by the North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year jurors last year as well, making this Ford’s second winning year in a row. In 2021, the F-150 and the Mustang Mach-E both received top honors.
The North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year award winners are chosen by a panel of 50 jurors. These jurors come from a broad background and are tasked with selecting the vehicles of the year that define or redefine their segments through qualities such as their innovation, design, safety, handling, driver satisfaction and overall value.
The 2022 Bronco is certainly hitting the mark of defining its segment. With Broncos turning on dealer lots within an average of seven days, the customer response is being heard loud and clear. This is a vehicle that shows its readiness for wild adventures in every aspect, from its heritage design and rugged engineering to its advanced off-road technology. Along with the North American Utility of the Year award, the Bronco has also taken home the SEMA 2021 4x4 of the Year award, the 2022 Forbes Wheels of the Year award, the Motor1 Best Adventure Vehicle award, and many more.
The Ford Maverick was destined to reshape the public idea of a pickup truck from the moment it was announced, and it has more than delivered. Affordable, maneuverable, and incredibly efficient, this modern compact pickup is turning on dealer lots even faster than the Bronco, at an average of four days. Its small size makes it widely accessible and applicable, while its capability and efficiency are often complete game changers for its drivers, often customers who had never had a truck before and didn’t realize how much they could use one. The Maverick has won the Kelley Blue Book 2022 Best New Model and Best Compact Pickup award, the Forbes Wheels 2022 Pickup of the Year award, and the Carbuzz People’s Car Award, among others.
