Ever since Ford’s official announcement that the legendary Ford Bronco would be returning to the fold, the buzz for the original off-road SUV king has been very real.
Since its initial unveiling last summer, the 2021 Ford Bronco has received more than 190,000 reservations from Ford fanatics who are chomping at the bit to take delivery on their shiny new rides. However, production limitations resulting from higher-than-expected demand as well as the fallout of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic pushed back delivery of the model significantly.
Well, those crazed Ford fanatics can rest a little easier following Ford’s recent announcement that official order banks for the 2021 Ford Bronco will open next Wednesday, January 20th. This means that reservations will finally be converted to official orders, which puts the 2021 Ford Bronco back on track to make dealerships by summer 2021.
This reservation-to-order conversion process will run uninterrupted until March 19th, which is the final deadline for finalizing dealership selection, placing orders, and agreeing to a sales price with the dealer of choice.
By May of 2021, customers who have officially placed their Bronco order will begin to receive additional details regarding estimated delivery timing. However, this information will depend on a variety of factors, including reservation timestamp, selected trim level, vehicle configuration, and the number of Broncos the selected dealership is slated to receive.
Following this process, deliveries are expected to begin this summer. Nevertheless, don’t expect to see the all-new Ford Bronco sitting pretty in lots and showroom’s nationwide by that time. Ford has already stated that no dealership will receive a healthy stock of Bronco models until 2022 at the earliest.
In addition, the availability of certain Bronco features have been pushed back to the 2022 model year as well, including the Shadow Black-painted hardtop and the Bronco Sasquatch Package coupled with Ford’s new seven-speed manual transmission.
The good news is, Ford is offering a bit of a consolation prize as a means of apology for the extended Bronco delay. According to the Blue Oval brand, those that have ordered a Bronco will earn 42,000 FordPass rewards points (over $200 in value) which they can use toward maintenance, service, accessories, and more at their local Ford dealer.
Additionally, Ford is adding an additional 20,000 rewards points at the time of delivery, which adds up to 62,000 points over time, which equates to over $300 in total value.
