The Ford F-150 is a beautiful truck, so shouldn’t you keep it as pristine as possible throughout its entire life cycle?
At Dunphy Ford, we always go the extra mile to ensure that our customers are given all the information they need to maintain their vehicles to the highest standard imaginable.
Check out this comprehensive guide to keeping your Ford F-150 running at peak performance the entire time you have it.
At 10,000 Miles
At the 10,000 mile mark, your F-150 pickup is still a spring chicken, but that doesn't mean it won’t require service.
By now, you should have given your car at least two oil and filter changes (one every 5,000 miles) and a fresh tire alignment.
At this stage, your Ford truck’s parts are still new, but you should still take the time to carefully inspect your transmission fluid, brake system, and cooling system to ensure everything is in working order.
Your tires should also be inspected for proper tread level at this point as well.
At 25,000 Miles
At this stage, your F-150 is still a young gun that’s ready for action.
Be sure that you’ve been keeping up with oil and filter changes along the way, and prepare to give your truck a new engine air filter, a tire rotation, and another alignment. You should also be sure to clean your pickups mass airflow sensor at this point as well.
Keep an eye on your fluids, brake system, cooling system components, and tire tread as well.
At 50,000 Miles
At 50,000 miles, it is now time once again to change your engine air filter and flush your fluids. You should also be sure to fully clean your throttle body of grime to keep it running smoothly.
By this stage, or perhaps even sooner, your tires are due for replacement. Be sure to follow manufacturer guidelines to keep them properly inflated, and get another alignment while you’re at it.
At 75,000 Miles
By this stage, your Ford F-150 has truly entered the prime of its life. To keep it in its prime for as long as possible, be sure to replace its spark plugs, and go for another tire rotation and alignment.
Never forget to keep up with your oil changes and fluid levels! They are now becoming more important than ever.
By now you should also have taken the time to replace your brake pads, calipers, and rotors as well.
At 100,000 Miles
At 100,000 miles, your pickup has hit an important milestone. It is at this stage that you should replace the engine coolant, and get new tires once again.
Pay extra attention to your truck’s timing and drive belts, and remember to clean the throttle body yet again.
If you continue to care for your F-150 truck properly, it will keep working hard for you well past this stage.
