Even though Hurricane Harvey hit the United States nine months ago, both communities and individuals are still struggling to recuperate. Natural disasters leave havoc in their wake, and it takes time to rebuild after such events, especially ones the size and scope of Hurricane Harvey.
Ford has committed to helping the people and community of Houston after this storm. The company held a Texas is Family event on May 11. The goal of this event was boost the aid that is being funneled into the communities. Ford has continued its ongoing contribution to helping the community by donating 38 Ford vehicles to eight organizations.
These eight organizations have been working tirelessly to rebuild after Harvey. These eight organizations are Houston Food Bank, American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, Team Rubicon, ToolBank, Catholic Charities, San Antonio Food Bank and North Texas Food Bank. These vehicles will be put to good use; they will help deliver necessary goods and services throughout the area. Additionally, some of these vehicles will be
used as emergency vehicles in the face of future disasters.
Jim Vella, president, Ford Fund is quoted on Ford Media saying this about the event, “Ford is the best in Texas because of our longstanding commitment to being a good neighbor, strengthening communities and helping make people’s lives better – in good times and in times of need.” Ford has continued to help Houston in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, and this aid came most recently in the form of vehicle donations.
