In the automobile industry, there are constant changes being made to vehicles and company lineups. These changes are primarily driven by customer interest. For example, many customers are now interested in alternatively-fueled vehicles. This has caused a rise, across the board, in the development and sale of electric and hybrid vehicles. Companies examine their customers’ buying habits, and go from there on developing new vehicles.

One such market change is the increasing popularity of SUVs among drivers. Ford recognizes this, as their own sales have grown over the years. In doing so, Ford has begun to heavily market their SUVs, as well as invest further into the future development of their class.

In this development of their SUV class, Ford has made a step towards enhancing the performance of said vehicles. This includes the recent debut of a completely new Edge ST. The Edge ST is geared up for performance, equipped with a very powerful V6 engine that is sure to provide for a thrilling drive. The ST boasts an impressive 335 horsepower, putting an emphasis on performance.

In a continuation of performance-minded SUVs, Ford recently made an announcement about a new performance SUV coming in 2020. The SUV will be a fully electric vehicle called the Mach 1. Not only does this new vehicle show Ford’s movement towards electric vehicles, it also shows the company’s emphasis on SUV development. The future for Ford holds advanced SUVs and electrically-powered vehicles.
