At a time when the vehicle market in general is less than stellar, high-selling vehicles are very noteworthy. Despite the market, these vehicles still find a way to succeed and sell a high number of models. Ford has found the class of vehicles that is performing very well for them in the new year. This is their large SUVs.
The all new Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator have been off to exceptional starts in 2018. Not only are the vehicles selling very well, they are also turning over very quickly. In fact, both the 2018 Expedition and 2018 Navigator spend a week on the lot before being sold. This is a great statistic, and shows the popularity of these new models.
This popularity caused Ford to invest more in the production of the vehicles. In fact, the company wasn’t expecting such a high volume of sales. This new investment came in the form of an additional $25 million to assist in further and higher production manufacturing.
This investment will go into the Kentucky Truck Plant, which produces the Ford SUV. The investment will be used to upgrade the production system. This upgrade includes 400 new robots and a new 3D printer. All of these upgrades will go a long way in streamlining the production process. With such strong interest in Ford’s SUVs, the upgrade will go a long way in satisfying consumer desire.
