Some may not realize it, but Ford is much more than an automaker. They are highly focused on community. Ford and its affiliates do a lot for nonprofits and community groups. Ford’s work is especially evident in the month of September. September is Ford Global Caring Month.
Throughout September, Ford employees from across the world chip in and help out their friends and neighbors, as well as aide people in other countries. In fact, employees from 38 countries will be involved in this year’s Ford Global Caring Month.
The Ford Motor Company Fund contributed $700,000 to supply the effort so that the volunteers had ability to complete all of the projects. The whole event is the product of the Ford Volunteer Corps. The Corps sets all of the projects in motion and orchestrates the entire operation, which is quite massive.
There are numerous projects that occur simultaneously during the month. For example, the UK volunteers worked on renovating a homeless shelter and doing work to completely restore a children’s activity center. In Germany, volunteers assisted in making preparations for a new refugee camp that is being constructed. In Australia, Ford employees built water tanks so that disadvantaged children could have clean drinking water.
These examples are just a few of the many projects that Ford employees are working towards in the month of September. Ford is much more than an automaker. Ford sincerely helps people, and the Ford Global Caring Month is an excellent example of their dedication.
