The southern edge of the United States has been wracked with severe storms recently. Hurricanes Irma and Harvey struck the coast in the beginning of the month, dealing catastrophic damage as they moved through the area. Flooding was a severe problem, and many people lost their homes and businesses. The full scope of the damage is still unclear.
Many companies are doing what they can to help those who are suffering from these natural disasters, Ford included. In order to repair and rebuild after these disasters, there needs to be outside financial help. Ford Motor Company Fund donated $500,000 to several organizations working in Texas. Additionally, Ford dealers in Texas have raised hundreds of thousands in order to facilitate the rebuilding process. Ford will match these dealer donations up to $1.5 million.
In Florida, Ford has promised to match their employee and dealer donations up to $150,000. Ford has pumped quite a bit of money into the disaster relief efforts in Florida and Texas. However, Ford is going a step further. Ford has put into place the “Texas Is Family” and “Florida Is Family” customer-assistance bundles. With these bundles, hurricane victims can get a vehicle for the same below-invoice price as Ford employees, while also forgoing payments until next year.
Hurricanes Irma and Harvey have caused indescribable damage to the southern coast of the country. While it is impossible to completely fix all of the damage that the storms have wrought, Ford is doing what it can to help those who have been affected by these fearsome storms.
