This limited edition model is a classic tribute to the GT40 Mark II which was the first Ford GT to win this race 50 years ago.

The Ford GT 1966 Heritage Edition is also celebrating the 50th anniversary of the impressive 1-2-3 finish at Le Mans by Chris Amon and Bruce McLaren. Ford GT 1996 Heritage Edition will have unique color themes on the interior as well as the exterior. It will also come with an exclusive finish for the wheels. The entire look has been given a black theme which gives it a distinct but impressive look.

Racing Strips

The new GT 1966 Heritage Edition has been designed with the styling of a 60's race car in mind. The exterior has been given a Shadow Black color with both matte and gloss finish available to choose from. Heritage edition is also been equipped with a carbon fiber package and Frozen White graphics with the #2 paint work that is completed by the legendary racing strips on the Ford GT.

The limited edition GT will also run on stylish 20-inch aluminum wheels with a satin-gold finish, and the lug nuts will be painted black to complete the contrasting look. The attention to detail regarding this car is impressive.

Rear Profile

If you think Ford has forgotten the cabin and kept the original theme in mind, then you'll be pleased to know that this time, the car gets an all-black interior. But, since they also have to keep up with modern needs, Ford has wrapped the limited edition seats in Ebony leather and carbon fiber. They also have plow-through stitching and pillowed inserts.

Cabin

The steering wheel and head restraints for the seats have been debossed with the famous GT logo. Some parts have been taken from the original race car of 1966 which gives it a very vintage yet modern feel. The steering wheel is wrapped in leather, and the seat belts have a unique blue webbing. The instrument panel, headliner, and pillars also have a leather wrap, and some gold appliques are present on the instrument panel.

Even the shift paddles and the x-brace have gold appliques. The powertrain for the car has not been changed though with the 3.5 L V6 Eco Boost engine still offering more than 600 hp while being mated to a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox.

Dashboard

The exterior design manager for the 1966 Heritage Edition, Garen Nicoghosian, says that the team had set out with the objective of highlighting where everything started for the GT. Even though the looks are based distinctly on the GT40 Mark II version of the car, they have also managed to accentuate some new styling cues in order to give it a modern representation.

This car is incredible. This car is a stunner. The Ford GT 1996 Heritage Edition is incredible. It may not be the best car on the planet but it is up there. This car is a head turner and the Ford GT 1996 Heritage Edition is a beauty and anyone would have to give respect too.

A Car that Sets the Bar Higher

What is more, this one is drivable, unlike the Lego version which was launched a week ago at the Le Mans. The Heritage Edition car certainly is a stunning tribute to the original one which kicked off a string of Le Mans victories for Ford in 1966. Are you going to buy one for yourself? This is a sensational vehicle you cannot miss to add to your collection. This car will certainly bolster any collection.

And if you do not have a car collection, you can do fine with just this one.
