These are in no particular order, so don’t feel like you need to prioritize any snack over another.

1. Beef Jerky

Beef jerky is a road trip classic, and there’s no wonder why. Not only is the snack full of flavor, it’s also jam packed with protein. There’s also just something about the feeling of ripping through a beef stick on the open road, truly American.

2. Chex Mix

Chex Mix has built in versatility. It’s a no brainer for a this list because it checks so many boxes: pretzels, check; chex, oh yeah; rye chips, you know it; those cracker stick things, they’re there too. 3. Gummies

Gummy candy is a great choice for your next road trip. It gives you that sugar rush you need to keep driving, and the chewy texture keeps your mouth occupied for a least a bags worth of time (your mileage may vary). Also, it’s candy we’re talking about here, so you already knew it would make the list.

4. Babybel Cheese

Cheese doesn’t have to be limited to ritzy dinner parties and charcuterie boards, with Babybel Cheese you can bring the classic dairy snack across the nation. Babybel Cheese, for those not in the know, is essentially string cheese for grownups; it’s kind of like a baby cheese wheel that’s surrounded by a protective wax-coating. Put it on the ritz this road trip (buttery crackers are optional).

5. Corn Nuts

Corn Nuts are beyond road-trip-worthy. These albeit strange, not really nuts, corn snacks, are the crunchiest snacks in a bag, and they’re just as salty as they are crunchy. Believe us, these snacks are meant to go behind the wheel with you.

6. Grapes

You knew there would be some sort of healthy somewhere on this list, but hear us out. Grapes are really the ultimate natural food for on the road. They’re poppable, sweet, and have great texture, there’s no reason not to pack them in your cooler. And, for something even sweeter, look for cotton candy grapes in your local grocery store. If you haven’t tried them yet you’re really missing out on an experience.

7. Trail Mix

You don’t have to be a hiker to enjoy this timeless snack. Good old raisins and peanuts, GORP, has been the snack of choice for those on the go for centuries, and there’s no wonder why. It’s chock-full of protein and will keep you full for the whole drive.

8. Flaming Hot Cheetos

An american favorite, Flaming Hot Cheetos check all the boxes for a great road trip snack. They’re crunchy, spicy, and generally delicious. The only issue here is how much Cheeto dust you’ll get on your fingers. If you’re worried about getting your steering wheel all cheesed up, then maybe have your co-pilot feed you. It’s a great opportunity for team building.

9. Granola Bars

Whether you like them chewy or crispy, granola bars are a great go to for any road trip. They’re filled with fiber and protein, and will likely leave you more satisfied than most fast-food meals. With so much variety, there’s no way you won’t find something to please all your passengers.
