Furious Ford Power

The Ford Explorer has never dropped the ball on power, and 2021's edition is no different. A 2.3L turbocharged four-cylinder engine capable of producing up to 300 horsepower will be standard on the base, XLT, and Limited trims.

Craving more power? Upgrade to the Platinum model to receive a 3.0L twin-turbocharged 365-horsepower V6 engine, or the  ST model to receive a 400-horsepower version of the same build.

In addition, the Ford Explorer hybrid model has also returned for 2021. This model harnesses the power of both a gas-powered 3.3L V6 engine and high-performance electric motor in order to produce a combined 318 ponies.

Safety and Assistance Tech You Can Trust

Ford SUVs are all about safety, and thanks to careful design and engineering, the 2021 Ford Explorer will carry the same suite of safety and assistance features that earned it a five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in 2020.

On the 2021 Ford Explorer, you'll have access to key safety features like standard forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, standard blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and standard lane-departure warning.

Other features, like fully automatic headlights, active park assist, and adaptive cruise control will be available as optional driver-assistance tech as well.
